Two boys and a bun!

oh how fun. I did family portraits for this family last year and this year they got a bun! How cute is that? Can't wait to meet this new little addition.

The M Family...

It's that time of year, holiday cards, family portraits and this year I got to photograph the whole family, not just the kids! Wow, those boys are just shooting up! It was my pleasure to be able to capture these images for this wonderful family. I know Mom and Dad will treasure them as much as I treasure the gifts they have given me! :)

a mother's love

can not be measured by the kisses that she blesses her babies with, can not be measured by the hugs she wraps them in, can not be measured by her touch or her breath but I was able to capture the miracle of it!

Check out this little guys face!

I could just eat him up and I'm not in the business of eating babies (I leave that for the big bad wolf).

My muse

To say that she inspires me is short of the truth. I have a thing for "sassy" girls, not sure if my own little sassy CCB (crazy Cuban baby) tarnished my perception of how little girls should be. I thrive and become more creative when I have a sassy girl to work with. I can even admit to everyone here, reading this post, that I encourage the sassy-ness... I KNOW bad, me! Oh B, I know you've been dying to have a "sneak peak" of your sassy girl, aka my muse!

Foster Children and why I do what I do...

A few days ago I was invited to take some images of foster children that are going to be in the Kids Hope Fashion Show. These children were being given outfits to wear during the fashion shoot and to keep after. A few of the kids touched my heart. This cute little tiny girl who stretched out her hands to me and called me mommy and right there and then I could have adopted her and brought her home! (and yes, she's up for adoption...)

But this post is not about her but a young man. 11 years old, distant, quiet, sitting in a corner. He wanted me to take his picture but didn't want to look at me! I didn't understand this but I kept trying to make him look up and maybe a smile. I finally got a smile from him and I can't tell you how much I teared up editing his image. This little boy looked lost, lonely in a room full of people, he looked like he is missing the essential pieces of a safe and happy home, a magical childhood, like the ones we work so hard to give to our children. I can only imagine what his childhood has been like, how it is shaping him for his future.

I can't adopt them, I know this, but I can help raise funds for them, I can be there to capture these once-in-a-lifetime images! I can attend the fund raisers, I can help in some small way so that they get some sort of safe and happy home and a little bit of magic.

Please join me at this amazing event.
