I know I'm super behind on blogging sessions, sooo, sooo sorry about that. I had the pleasure of meeting this family last year- (I did their maternity/newborn session and now their Fall family portraits). The mom is the sweetest, prettiest little thing- (I want to be her, she's so genuinely nice!) and the dad- oh boy, he is a riot. He ALWAYS has me in stitches and I love it when people make me laugh so I just love hanging out with them. Well Mr. Little Guy is just simply adorable! His birthday is coming up soon (wow, time flies, can't believe he's almost 1) and I can't wait to do his first birthday session!
I'm a talker, those of you who know me know I talk and talk and talk and ok, TALK. And guess what the coolest thing about talking is? Getting to know my clients! It seems my clients like to talk to me just as much as I like to talk to them! I get to know what they do for fun, family time and even what they do for a living and I must tell you a secret, some of them have FUN jobs too! This mom, whom I LOVE and I could chat up a storm with her for hours, does the ABC's- now isn't that cool? Ok, she doesn't just do the ABC's she made books for pre-schoolers and they are "uber"-(yes it's my new word of the month!) cool. The website is KS Kids Publishing The names of the books are Alphabet Fun, Coloring and Activity Books. These books are a great resource for children ages 3 and up and *wink, wink* a nice thing for them to keep busy while we chill with a good novel!
Today hubby and I have been married for 16 (yes, you read that right!) years! WOW! Sometimes I can't believe it's been that long... Happy Anniversary honey! Here's to another happy, healthy 16 (or more) years! *Disclosure: picture was taken last summer by the wonderful Alissa Brickman*
It's no secret that I love to read!- ever since I learned how to I've always had a book under my nose. I can even read while walking, driving's another matter though, haven't mastered that yet. I am a voracious reader too. I love historical novels, just finished reading The Other Boleyn Girl and love Phillipa Gregory. I'll share my long, long, long list of books one day. But this post is not about my books but about books for your kids. Junie B Jones series by Barbara Parks is a great series of books for the young school age kids. I think it's best for the first grade through third. The series is about a little girl that has tons of sass, hmmmm, she reminds me of someone! Me!
Seriously though it's a great funny series of books that I know your kids will enjoy. So next time you are in Barnes and Noble run and pick up a copy of my favorite kids series Junie B Jones. Oh and don't forget to comment here about it!
Oh and for the younger kids I love, love, love:
Oh and a couple of my favorite poems are by Shel Silverstein- Sick and Clarence Lee
This family has done an amazing thing. Sometimes we don't think about family portraits with the grandparents. It's just not something that we think about. Well the G family hired me to do two different sessions with their parents when the parents came to visit them. I had the privilege of capturing these proud grandparents with their new grandbaby! These images will always be priceless to them, I applaud them for the forethought. I know portraits with my own father and my children are priceless to me. Can't you just feel the love and pride in these granparents?
